Singer sewing machines

Singer sewing machinesSinger sewing machines are known throughout the world as some of the best sewing machines. In fact, for many people, “Singer sewing machines” is the exact same thing as “sewing machines.” Many people even assume that Isaac Merritt Singer (whom Singer sewing machines are named after) invented the sewing machine. This is not true. He did, however, revolutionize the sewing machine industry by designing the best of the time. The first Singer sewing machines used flying shuttles instead of rotary ones. Also, the first Singer sewing machines had vertically mounted needles and a presser foot which held the cloth in place – both of these things are standard on sewing machines today. Singer sewing machines were revolutionary in so many other ways, as well, and they are continually improving the lives of sewers, even today.
